Travis needed to sort through some things in his life before he could get serious with anyone, so his one night with Rochelle, even as unforgettable as it was, had to be put on the backburner. They have smoking hot chemistry, and Rochelle is amazing. This was probably the least suspenseful of the three books. Thrilling and addictive! A total recommend! Very slow and I'm not feeling it off to read another book.

This probably means that I won't come back to it. Sorry Ms. Book received by Montlake Romance via Netgalley in excahnge for an honest review. Enjoyed books 1 and 2 of this series more. Heavy on the romance, very light on the suspense.

Disappointed that there was a change of audiobook narrator. Review originally posted at All Books Considered: 3. This was actually the first book I've read in this series, her new romantic suspense series, and I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read the first two books which I bought upon release. So, first, you can definitely read each as a standalone although, from context, I could tell that there are overlapping characters.

And, second, I love both the heroes and heroines that Rosalind James creates -- th Review originally posted at All Books Considered: 3. And, second, I love both the heroes and heroines that Rosalind James creates -- they are always so real. By "real," I mean not perfect and yet, always crazy character connection and chemistry.

Travis and Rochelle were definitely two such characters -- intense chemistry and both so real -- they each had a past but lived in the present with each other. It was fun to see the suspense twist in this one, too -- it was well done and such a fun read! She is a go-to for me! This one also reminded me a bit of one of my favorites by Linda Howard , Open Season. She'd thought she hadn't wanted to hear his story, because it hadn't fit her model of her dream man.

I've read almost every book by Ms James -except the Kincaids. I gotta read those. I was really scouting the release of this book.

Joe Morton, 'Turn Me Loose' and the sly comic activism of Dick Gregory

This is book 3 in the Paradise, Idaho series. There's a great romantic introduction to start off this book. Actually, Rochelle and Travis had met briefly before. Uh hmm. Rochelle works for the Dean of Engineering at the University. Travis is a new guest lecturer. The POV is 3 person. Rochelle is a divorcee YES, her ex is an a-hole. Travis remembers their first meeti I've read almost every book by Ms James -except the Kincaids.

Travis remembers their first meeting. So does Rochelle. She's had a bad rep that she's trying to improve. She works hard at her job but her bombshell body doesn't help. All those Nerdy engineering guys have other ideas. I liked Travis and Rochelle right away. Their characters were well developed before the drama set in. The supporting characters were fairly realistic. The setting reminded me a little of "Twin Peaks" and "Fargo".

Rochelle is looking after her college student sister Stacy. Rochelle is 32 and Travis might be a couple of years older. Stacy gets into trouble at the beginning of the book- this leads to the suspense part of the book. Stacy had ingested some alcohol and pills at a party. There's frequent vague glimpses of the bad guys and the ID of their leader is a secret.

The focus stays mostly on Rochelle and Travis getting closer- I loved how Travis tries to keep focus on Rochelle's eyes and not her chest! I love Ms James' style of writing. The dialogue is just like how real people speak. This 3rd book is much more gritty and heavier on the danger and suspense.

The previous books' main characters play minor roles. This could definitely be a standalone. There is a great HEA Short but romantic.

Not much of an epilogue. I read this as an ARC Netgalley. I thought that this was very timely, considering the recent celebrities that have died from ODing. Very chilling reading this when we hear about adults and young people abusing pain medicine in real life. View all 5 comments. May 09, Bette Hansen rated it really liked it.
